Corsair harnesses event attendees and Facebook fans to bring more brand awareness to specialized high-end performance gaming gear with Commender™ based Corsair Passport mobile app

The Challenge

To turn a passionate and respected fan base into vocal, trusted and far-reaching advocates for Corsair branded gaming gear and components.


Corsair Passport: a mobile app (Android & iOS) based on the Reqvu Commender™ platform that converted fans (both online and at events) into enthusiastic posters of authentic photo content of the latest innovative Corsair branded gaming gear, through a series of challenges.

The campaign included:

  • Launched at PAX Australia (Nov 2014). Supported Corsair’s participation at Australia’s largest PC gaming event, reaching and activating their target fans in a major market

  • Supported 6 Corsair partner retailers/distrbutors

  • A Christmas online-only promotion targeted directly at Corsair’s Philippines Facebook fans


Corsair was able to convert a significant portion of its fans to create trusted content and post it to their own Facebook accounts promoting Corsair products and partners in an authentic and authoritative way to those they influence. This is what we call Social Word of Mouth.

At the PAX Australia event:

561 enthusiastic event attendees used Corsair Passport to post photos of key products on display at the Corsair and partner booths, generating over 171,000+ Facebook impressions over 2 days

On the Corsair Facebook Philippines page:

1% of 7928 fans (79 users) used Corsair Passport to post photo content that generated 21,500 Facebook impressions

Corsair challenged event attendees and app users to take photos of their latest line of high end gaming keyboards, headsets, mice and gaming rigs.

Getting the mobile app in the hands of our enthusiasts made it both rewarding for them and influential for us to get our newest, innovative products shown out to hundreds of thousands more people beyond the 4 walls of the event. Showing value to our partners was a nice bonus, too.
